Program Description

The Conservation Law Enforcement track of Natural Resource Management is designed to educate and prepare students for careers in Conservation Law Enforcement. There are additional requirements that must be met before graduates from this program can become a certified law enforcement officer in Georgia. Since all criminal justice courses are a part of the Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) basic certification, the focus of this degree program is to give students a solid foundation in wildlife ecology and management and to enhance their written and oral communication skills through a variety of advanced courses in communication and public administration. Lab activities and field trips are heavily geared towards experiential learning. A minimum grade of C is required in all Forest Resources (FRSC prefix) courses.
